International Women's Day Breakfast (IWDB) 2021

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the International Women's Day Breakfast last Friday. We all had such a fantastic morning with our WEB members and with our sister societies from UTS, UNSW and USYD. Over breakfast, the panelists engaged in an insightful discussion around this year's theme of #ChoosetoChallenge. This year's theme called upon how we can challenge the gender biases and barriers faced by women in the world today.

The panel was facilitated by Catherine Fox, an award winning journalist, author and leading commentator on women in the workforce. The esteemed panelists included Yolanda Beattie, Director at Yo&Co Pty Ltd, Katherine Rathie, Partner in Charge at King & Wood Mallesons, James Hunter, Partner, Management Consulting at KPMG and Jackie Johnson, Co-Chairperson at Australian Sustainable Financial Initiative. Each panelist offered insights on this year's theme, reflecting on what it means to them personally and their advice to attendees, the next generation of professionals.

The networking portion was conducted over zoom. There were three rounds, each with 15 minutes to speak with a panelist or representative from a sponsor company. The networking session gave attendees the opportunity to discuss career paths, career opportunities and tips for entering the workforce as women.
